Silver Creek finished 16th of 25 teams

Excerpt from Times Call Article:
PAUL EXITS ON HIGH NOTE: Alex Paul is used the the bright lights of the state meet.
And the senior didn’t disappoint on Saturday. This time, however, Paul was donning a Silver Creek uniform.
Paul, who transferred from Niwot over the summer, crossed the finish line in 11th place at the Class 4A state meet. It’s his best showing at state in a career filled with expectations and accomplishments.
“I hopped on the outside and just cruised,” said Paul, who had a time of 16:36.72. “I never saw (Niwot’s) David Perry. I never caught up to that front pack.”
But Paul anchored the Raptors to a 16th-place team finish. It was the first time Silver Creek has ever qualified its entire boys team.
“We set the standard now,” Paul said. “It’s the first state team we’ve ever had, and we had a strong showing.”

Peaches

Message from Coach Barb Keith:
On Wednesday September 23rd the truck with the peaches will arrive at Silver Creek at 1:00 p.m. and so we will have time to get everything ready for delivery. If there are any parents who could volunteer some time to help with the peach order, I could use some assistance. I will need help with the following: unloading peaches, setting up orders for students to take, collecting money from the people who have not paid as they come to pick up peaches – I will have a spread sheet on this, delivering orders to teachers within the building and collecting money from them, I will need a couple of boxes of peaches taken to Altona, students will need to deliver peaches right after they pick them up.

It looks like they’ll have around 1100 high schoolers racing from the 39 teams attending. Also they expect to have runners from 20 middle school prgrams.

Directions to meet:
100 South 2nd Ave, Lyons, CO, 80540. We are located about 1 mile west of the intersection of Hwy 36 and Hwy 66 (which currently has some construction going on). When you see the big “Welcome to Lyons” sandstone rock, turn left over the river and drive about a quarter mile to the 3-way stop sign. You’ll be able to see the school south of the intersection. We will have a drop-off area for buses in the parking lot south of the school with a police officer directing traffic. Once buses are empty, they will leave the parking lot and drive north to the 3-way stop again, stay to the left and park at the Mormon church which is just up the street. Parking will be at a premium, so it would be great if you can encourage your fans to carpool.

The Boulder Running Company will have a tent on site and have donated the bibs for the race. Jeff Boele is in charge of team sales for the Boulder store and would be happy to visit with you about any apparel needs.
